Snow Metaphor in Chinese Ancient Poetry

摘要: 莱柯夫的概念隐喻理论认为隐喻是从一个具体的概念域(源域)向一个抽象的概念域(目标域)的系统映射；隐喻是思维问题，可以反映在语言中；隐喻是思维方式和认知手段。本论文拟通过莱柯夫的概念隐喻理论对中国古典诗歌中典型的雪隐喻进行分析，总结出“雪隐喻高雅艺术”，“雪隐喻高洁品格”，“雪隐喻男女爱情”，“雪隐喻女子之美”四种雪隐喻，通过本论文的研究，能够更好地理解诗歌的深层次意义和诗歌的内在美。

Abstract: Lakoff’s conceptual metaphor theory holds that metaphor is a systematic mapping from a concrete conceptual domain (source domain) to an abstract conceptual domain (target domain). Metaphor is a thinking problem, which can be reflected in language. Metaphor is a way of thinking and cognitive means. This paper intends to analyze the typical snow metaphors in Chinese classical poetry through Lakoff’s conceptual metaphor theory, and summarize four snow metaphors: snow is elegant art; snow is noble character; snow is love; snow is beauty of women. With the research of this paper, the deep meaning of poetry and the inner beauty of poetry can be understood.
