The Inter-pretation of Tragic Survival: The Death Narrative of “Pray for Him” from the Perspective of Aesthetic and Religion

摘要: 台静农《为彼祈求》一文通过对自己家乡农民悲惨境遇的描写进而推及到当时中国广大农村土地上的贫苦百姓，以个体生命的死亡叙事反映了彼时广大底层人民的苦难遭遇。他以审美、宗教的生存态度与生存的现实悲剧性实现一种超越阶级的，对人的基本生存权力最真切的关怀。

Abstract: “Pray for Him” by Tai Jingnong depicts the poverty and misery people encountered in the Chinese rural area in his time by portraying the peasants below the subsistence level in his hometown and the indi-vidual death narrative. The story also reveals Tai’s solicitude which focuses on the entitlement to live regardless of social class in aesthetics, religion, and tragic survival.
