儿童文学中隐喻对人物形象的塑造作用——以《哈利•波特与魔法石》为例

The Role of Metaphors in Children’sLiterature on Characterization—A Case Study of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone as an Example

摘要: 隐喻作为认知语言学中的一个重要理论，一直以来受到学术界的高度重视与广泛应用，但隐喻在儿童文学作品人物个性塑造中所起的重要作用，却鲜有人提及。文章以《哈利•波特与魔法石》为例，一方面从宏观角度整体把握小说的篇章隐喻、情节隐喻及意象隐喻，另一方面从微观角度分析小说中出现的名词性隐喻、动词性隐喻、形容词性隐喻，在此基础上结合小说中主要人物、次要人物的形象特点，分析作者在塑造不同人物形象时对隐喻的使用情况，探究隐喻在人物形象塑造过程中所具有的运作机制，以期深化对儿童文学隐喻机制的研究。

Abstract: As an important theory in cognitive linguistics, metaphor has been taken seriously and applied widely in academic circles, while the important role of it in shaping the personality of characters in children’s literature has rarely been mentioned. This article takes Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone as an example. On the one hand, it will analyze the chapter metaphors, plot metaphors and imagery metaphors of the novel from a macro perspective, and on the other hand, it will focus on the noun metaphors, verb metaphors and adjective metaphors in this novel from a micro perspective. Based on the analysis, this article will take the characteristics of the main characters and secondary characters into consideration and try to find how the author uses metaphors to shape different characters in the novel. The article also will explore the operation mechanism of metaphor in the process of characterization to deepen the research on the metaphorical mechanism in children’s literature.
