基于语料库的《瑞普•凡•温克尔》多元主题解析

A Corpus-Based Analysis on Multi-Theme of Rip Van Winkle

摘要: 华盛顿•欧文在美国文学史上占有重要地位，被誉为美国文学之父，但很少有学者对其作品进行定量研究。因此，本文结合AntConc，Vosviewer和ROST CM6软件，对其最为知名的短篇故事《瑞普•凡•温克尔》的主题进行基于语料库的数字人文研究。通过语料库的高频词、主题词与社会语义网络从情节和意象方面更加直观地解读该故事历史书写、自然神、反清教以及印第安失落的主题思想。这说明结合语料库方法分析文本能够辅助发现潜在线索，为文学作品的研究提供了新的可能。

Abstract: Washington Irving occupies an important position in the history of American literature and is re-garded as the father of American literature. However, few scholars have made quantitative studies on his works. Therefore, this paper combines AntConc, Vosviewer and ROST CM6 software to conduct a corpus-based digital humanities study on the theme of his most famous short story Rip Van Winkle. Through the high-frequency words, keywords and social semantic network of the corpus, the theme of historical writing, deism, anti-Puritanism and Indian loss are interpreted more intuitively from the aspects of plot and image. This research shows that corpus-based analysis can help to find potential clues and provide a new possibility for the study of literary works.
