云南高校缅语专业学生学习能动性研究

摘要: 随着“一带一路”倡议的实施,非通用语在中国的发展进入了一个振兴时代。非通用语作为连接中国与世界各国的桥梁,发挥着重要作用。更确切地说,云南作为中国与东南亚国家合作的窗口,非通用语教育在云南省得到了前所未有的发展,尤其是缅甸语教育。因此,为了探讨中国西南边疆地区的缅甸语学习经历,本研究以语言能动性为理论指导,重点分析了云南高校缅语专业学生的缅甸语学习经历。本文关注了缅语专业学生的语言认知、面临的挑战以及克服缅甸学习困难采取的策略,重点探讨缅语专业学生如何在学习缅语过程中发挥能动性。研究发现,云南高校缅语学习者缅语学习存在着一个动态的过程。在接触缅甸之后,学习者改变了他们对缅甸学习的认知并在缅语学习资源不足的情境下仍然发挥能动性来学习缅语。本研究不仅可以为外语学习提供新的案例分析和新的视角,也可以为学生学习外语提供新的思路。
Abstract: With the implementation of the “Belt and Road” initiative, the development of LOTE (language other than English) in China comes into a revitalization era. LOTE, as a bridge, play important role in linking China and other countries. More specifically, Yunnan is a window for China to cooperate with Southeast Asian countries, and the education of LOTE in Yunnan province has an unprecedented development, especially Myanmar language. Thus, to explore Myanmar language learning experiences in China’s Southwest area, this study focuses on the Myanmar language learning experience of postgraduates at a university in Yunnan by using language agency theory to guide our study. We pay attention to their perceptions, challenges and agentive strategies for overcoming difficulties in Myanmar learning and explore how they exercise their agency in learning Myanmar. The findings reveal that there exists a dynamic process in learning Myanmar. Students have changed their values of learning Myanmar after their exposure and exercise their agency in the context of the under-resourced context. The study can provide new case study and new perspective with foreign language study, special LOTE and also prepare students for learning LOTE.
