Abstract: The impact of school bullying on students’ mental health has been widely concerned by researchers and educators, but little is known about the impact of early victimization experiences on college students’ self and its mechanism. In this study, 972 college students from three universities in Henan and Hubei Province were selected to complete the Victimization Questionnaire, the Chinese Adult Resilience Scale and the Core Self-evaluations Scale. The results showed that the victimization experiences of college students were negatively and significantly correlated with resilience and core self-evaluations, and resilience had a positive and significant correlation with core self-evaluations. The mediating effect test found that resilience played a partial mediating role between victimization experiences and core self-evaluations, and the mediating effect accounted for 66.67% of the total effect. It shows that the victimization experiences of college students will indirectly affect their core self-evaluations by influencing their resilience.
