桂林旅游景区语言景观与城市形象的互动关系——以西街、东西巷为例
Interaction Relationship between Linguistic Landscape and City Image of Guilin Tourist Attractions—Taking West Street and East-West Lane as examples
摘要: 语言景观是社会语言生态的反映,是对外展现城市形象的重要窗口。在建设世界级旅游城市背景下,文章以桂林国际旅游景区西街、东西巷为研究对象,采用田野调查法、比较研究法分析两地语言景观概况及其与城市形象的关系。研究发现,两地语言景观在类型、语码、材质选择上有不同的倾向,这与两地景区的形象定位有密切关系;两地语言景观对桂林形象的展现既有共同之处,又保留了各自特色,西街侧重展现桂林的山水休闲城市形象,东西巷侧重展现桂林的历史文化名城形象,二者均能呈现桂林“国际旅游胜地”的城市形象。研究结果对于进行语言景观的比较研究、揭示语言景观与城市形象的关系具有参考价值。
Abstract:
The linguistic landscape is a reflection of the social language ecology and an important portrait of the city to the outside world. In the background of building a world-class tourist city, the article takes West Street and East-West Lane of Guilin International Tourist Scenic Area as the research objects, and uses the method of field investigation and comparative research to analyze the linguistic landscape profile of the two places and its relationship with the image of the city. The research found that the two places have different tendencies in terms of type, code and material selection, which are closely related to the image positioning of the two scenic spots; the two places have common features and retain their own characteristics in presenting Guilin’s image, with West Street focusing on Guilin’s landscape and leisure city image while East-West Lane focusing on Guilin’s historical and cultural city image, both of which can present Guilin’s “international tourist resort” city image. The results of the study are of reference value for comparative studies of linguistic landscapes and the revelation of the relationship between linguistic landscapes and city images.
