Abstract: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is an endocrine disorder and metabolic abnormality associated with reproductive women, especially with obesity, insulin resistance, hyperandrogenism and so on. Affected women often have a marked manifestation of insulin resistance. This feature is closely as-sociated with ovarian dysfunction, chronic inflammation, hyperandrogenism, and metabolic disor-ders. The purpose of this review is to outline the pathogenesis of PCOS in combination with insulin resistance.
