Abstract: To explore the effects of self-differentiation on malevolent creativity and the moderating effects of emotional susceptibility and gender, four hundred and forty-seven college students and postgraduates were selected from Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and self-differentiation, malevolent creativity and emotional susceptibility were measured by self-differentiation Scale (DSI-R), Malevolent creativity Scale (MCBS) and Emotional infection Scale (ECS). The structural equation model was used to examine the effect of self-differentiation on malicious creativity and its mechanism. The results showed that self-differentiation negatively predicted malevolent creativity. Emotional susceptibility and gender significantly moderated the effects of self-differentiation on malevolent creativity. The low group of emotional susceptibility predicted malevolent creativity more significantly than the high group, and the male group predicted malevolent creativity more significantly than the female group.
