自然与社会冲突下《持家》中女性个人成长研究——以露丝的身份构建为例

摘要: 《持家》描绘了三代女性的生活,重点描写露丝和露西尔的个人成长,她们对生活的看法、选择的人生道路以及寻找自我的过程。尤其是露丝,她突破了自然与社会的限制,追逐自由与理想的生活。本文探讨《持家》中女主人公露丝的身份构建,着重研究家庭、自然和社会对女性成长所产生的影响和施加的压力,深入分析露丝突破传统与限制,释放个性并最终得到自由的过程。
Abstract: Housekeeping depicts three generations of women but centers on Ruth and Lucille, their views upon life, their choices of life path and their searches for themselves. Ruth, especially, breaches the boundaries between nature and culture, pursuing her utmost desire of ideal life. By analyzing the text, the dissertation is to discuss Ruth’s self-construction under the impacts of family, nature and society from the perspectives of psychoanalysis, narrative features and female discourse so as to testify the interdependent relationships among female individual self-construction, nature and culture.
