The Impact of Retirement on Life Satisfaction—An Empirical Test Based on CSS2021 Data

摘要: 本研究运用Ordered Probit模型，基于2021年CSS数据库，实证分析了退休对生活满意度的影响。模型考虑了一系列个人和家庭特征，包括年龄、性别、教育程度、婚姻状况、家庭平均收入和生活保障状况等。结果表明，退休对生活满意度有负面影响，这可能是由于退休导致的社会联系减少和身份认同丧失。然而，我们也发现年龄、性别、婚姻状况、家庭平均收入和生活保障状况等因素可以对生活满意度产生正面影响。这些发现为理解退休如何影响生活满意度提供了新的见解，也为政策制定者提供了有价值的信息。我们建议政府应更加关注社会保障体系建设，通过提高退休人员的生活保障水平、提供更多的社会支持和提高家庭平均收入等方式，来提高退休人员的生活满意度。

Abstract: This study empirically analyzed the impact of retirement on life satisfaction using the Ordered Probit model and a 2021 CSS database. The model takes into account a series of personal and family characteristics, including age, sex, education, marital status, family average income and life security status. The results show that retirement has a negative effect on life satisfaction, which may be due to the reduction of social ties and loss of identity. However, we also found that age, gender, marital status, average family income and life security can have a positive impact on life satisfaction. These findings provide new insights into how retirement affects life satisfaction and valuable information for policymakers. We suggest that the government should pay more attention to the construction of the social security system by raising the living security level of retirees, providing more social support and raising the average family income, to improve the life satis-faction of retirees.
