归化与异化视角下《拉维瑙之歌》斯瓦希里语译本翻译策略研究

An Analysis of the Swahili Translation of Song of Lawino from the Perspective of Domestication and Alienation

摘要: 归化和异化作为两大翻译策略，是直译和意译两大翻译方法的延伸。在将外国文学作品翻译为斯瓦希里语时，也不可避免要面对“译与不译”和“如何译”的问题，亦即归化与异化。本文对于归化和异化两大翻译策略的起源以及发展史进行了基本梳理，同时以归化和异化作为基本视角，对奥考特•庇代克(Okot p’Bitek)名作《拉维瑙之歌》(Song of Lawino)的斯瓦希里语译本(Wimbo wa Lawino)对照原文进行赏析。通过对英语和斯瓦希里语这两种语言中归化和异化这两种翻译策略的应用方式进行比较分析，归纳总结翻译策略的特点，以期为日后英语向斯瓦希里语的翻译实践提供一二参考。

Abstract: As two major translation strategies, domestication and alienation are the extensions of two major translation methods: literal translation and free translation. This paper provides a basic overview of the origins and development of the two translation strategies of domestication and alienation, as well as an appreciation of the Swahili translation of Okot p’Bitek’s Song of Lawino from the perspec-tive of domestication and alienation. In this paper, English and Swahili versions of the work are compared and analyzed. This paper tries to summarize the two strategies of domestication and al-ienation, in order to provide a reference for future translation practice from English to Swahili.
