Abstract: A lightweight composite material exhibiting specific magnetic characteristics was fabricated through the mechanical blending of eutectic gallium-indium alloy (EGaIn), hollow glass beads, and magnetic iron nanopowder particles. Empirical investigations have confirmed its reduced density (as low as 24.3% compared to that of liquid metal) and variable stiffness. Notably, the saturation magnetization strength can reach 34.44 emu/g, while the residual magnetization strength attains 0.033 emu/g. These attributes facilitate geometric and spatial alterations within the vertical structure of liquid metal composites, enhancing the controllability of liquid metal in three-dimensional space and addressing the requirements of diverse applications. Furthermore, this composite material holds the potential to advance the progress of liquid metal in the domains of fluidics, electromagnetics, and even aerospace to a certain extent.
