Abstract: The phenomenon of “passing the buck” is very common in daily life. This article takes a psycho-logical perspective and explains the psychological reasons behind this behavior through attribu-tion theory, self-efficacy theory, and self-worth protection theory. This explanation can provide people with a deeper understanding of the “passing the buck” behavior. The article also offers some suggestions to avoid the “tragedy” of “being passed the buck” and discusses how to fundamentally reduce the occurrence of the “passing the buck” phenomenon, aiming to build harmonious and friendly social relationships.
