Abstract: Physiologically, iron can enter cardiomyocytes through a variety of pathways and play an important role in energy metabolism, however, in the case of continuous stress or overload, it can damage body cells through the Fenton reaction. Iron homeostasis disorder is related to a variety of cardio-vascular diseases, such as ischemia-reperfusion injury, coronary atherosclerosis, myocardial dis-eases and heart failure, early detection of ferritin levels, maintenance of iron homeostasis, preven-tion of iron overload, exploration of the interrelationship between ferritin and heart diseases, and provide a new direction for the diagnosis and prognosis of heart diseases.
