译者主体性下《仲夏夜之梦》翻译研究——以朱生豪译本为例
Study on the Translation of A Midsummer Night’s Dream under the Translator’s Subjectivity—Taking Zhu Shenghao’s Translation as an Example
摘要: 译者是翻译的主体,决定着译文的风格。本文从译者主体性的角度出发,分析《仲夏夜之梦》朱生豪译本。作为中国最早翻译莎剧的文学家之一,朱生豪深受传统国学的影响,译作极具个人色彩,在十余年的翻译历程中创造出独特的“朱氏”翻译风格。从《仲夏夜之梦》的译文可以看出,朱生豪将旧中国的社会背景和传统思想融入到作品当中,利用归化的手段将人物生动地展现出来,将西方角色与东方读者相联系,令中国读者更能感受到这部来自西方的作品所要表达的深刻内涵。
Abstract:
Translator, who decides the style of the text, is the subjectivity of the translation. This article starts from the perspective of translator’s subjectivity, analyzing Zhu Shenghao’s translation of The Mid-summer Night’s Dream. Being one of the earliest translators to translate Shakespeare’s plays, Zhu Shenghao was influenced by Chinese traditional cultures so that he had created his own style of translation. From his translation, we are able to find out that Zhu Shenghao had integrated the old China’s social background and traditional thoughts into the play, showing the characters lively by naturalization. He had linked western characters with eastern readers on the translation that made Chinese readers deeply understand the connotations of Shakespeare’s work.
