从原型范畴理论解读“burn”及其翻译研究
A Study on “Burn” and Its English Translation from Prototype Category Theory

摘要: 一词多义是译者在翻译时的重点和难点，对英语词汇的准确把握有助于译者更准确的翻译。在原型范畴理论的指导下，通过分析burn各个义项的延伸过程，对其翻译有以下研究发现：第一、先确定burn所属的类别；第二、从不同类别人或物，来确定burn的含义表达；第三、结合百科知识，通过隐喻等对burn进行灵活翻译。
Abstract: Polysemy is a key and challenging aspect for translators during the translation process. Having an accurate grasp of English vocabulary can help translators to translate more precisely. Guided by the prototype category theory, through analyzing the extension process of the various senses of “burn”, the following research findings have been discovered regarding its translation into English: Firstly, determine the kind that “burn” belongs to. Secondly, determine the specific meaning of “burn” based on the different kinds of people or objects involved. Thirdly, with the help of encyclopedic knowledge and metaphorical expressions, translate “burn” flexibly.
