Abstract: Firstly, the purpose of this study is to investigate whether filling in a sedentary questionnaire can induce the participants to reduce their sedentary time; and whether the think-loud method can enhance the questionnaire filling effect. In Experiment 1, 46 subjects were divided into the experi-mental group and the control group. The experimental group filled in the sedentary problem mate-rial, while the control group did not do any treatment. Sedentary time was measured one week later and two weeks later. The results showed that there was an interaction between time point and grouping (F = 4.186, p < 0.05, = 0.87), and the sedentary time in the experimental group de-creased gradually after intervention (F = 18.186, p < 0.001). The sedentary time of the control group did not change significantly in the two posttests (F = 2.916, p = 0.065), indicating that the in-tervention method of filling out the questionnaire was effective. In the second experiment, 52 sub-jects were recruited. The experimental group filled in the questionnaire using the think-lound method, while the control group filled in the questionnaire normally. The results showed that after the intervention, the sedentary time of the experimental group and the control group was signifi-cantly reduced (F = 15.796, p < 0.001), but there was no significant difference in the sedentary time of the experimental group and the control group on the posttest (t = –0.626, p = 0.534). The results showed that the questionnaire filling effect was not enhanced and sedentary time was further re-duced.
