Abstract: High schools continuation writing plays a crucial role in developing students’ writing skills and cognitive abilities. From the perspective of core literacies, the assignment of topic should focus on fostering students’ reading comprehension, critical thinking, information literacy, and language expression. This article center around core literacies providing feasible suggestions for the practice of continuation writing in high school, also emphasizing the significance of core literacies, the characteristics of continuation writing, and the inherent logic of how continuation writing can promote the formation of core literacies effectively.
