Abstract: In the new media era, the ideological and political education of higher vocational education is undergoing profound changes. New media not only provides a broad platform and abundant resources for ideological and political education, but also brings new challenges and reflections. In order to improve the effectiveness and pertinence of ideological and political education, we must grasp the new media as a sharp tool of the times and actively explore innovative ways. This paper analyzes the influence of new media on ideological and political education in higher vocational colleges and puts forward a series of forward-looking and operability innovation strategies. Through the skillful use of new media, students in higher vocational colleges can be guided to set up correct outlook on life, values and world outlook, and contribute wisdom and strength to cultivate talents with both morality and talent in the new era.
