Abstract: Sepsis has a high mortality rate and can lead to different degrees of organ damage, so its treatment is particularly important. A large number of studies have found that short-chain fatty acids can play an important role in the occurrence and development of sepsis through anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. In this paper, the production of short-chain fatty acids and their functions in various systems are described, so as to provide reference for further research on the prevention and treatment of sepsis.
