The Relationship between Self-Connection and Meaning in Life: The Mediating Role of Basic Psychological Needs Satisfaction
Abstract: “Knowing oneself” is important for well-being. It was found that self-connection significantly pre-dicted meaning in life and basic psychological needs satisfaction, with a significant mediating effect of basic psychological needs satisfaction. In other words, self-connection not only directly predicts life meaning, but also indirectly affects meaning in life through basic psychological needs satisfac-tion. And the mediating effect is larger than the direct effect.
