Chinese-English Translation of the “Charming Ulaanqab” Column in Government Website under the Guidance of Cultural Translation

摘要: 政府网站翻译是地方政府外宣的重要组成部分，其目的是向国外受众介绍本地特色的经济、政治、文化和民俗。从文化翻译观视角出发，以内蒙古自治区乌兰察布市人民政府网站中“走进乌兰察布”栏目为例，本文探讨了翻译过程中遇到的难点以及译者所采取的相应翻译方法。通过分享这些经验，旨在为家乡的对外传播提供一些帮助，同时也为网站翻译领域提供一些参考。这些努力将为增进国际间的交流与理解做出贡献。

Abstract: The translation of government websites involves introducing unique aspects of local economy, politics, culture, and customs to foreign audiences, serving as a crucial component of external promotion by local governments. This article explores the challenges faced and translation strategies employed by translators in translating the “Charming Ulaanqab” column of the People’s Government of Ulaanqab, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, from the perspective of cultural translation. By sharing experiences and insights, the goal is to support the promotion of our hometowns to a global audience and offer valuable references for the field of website translation.
