Abstract: This study takes the relevant papers in the Web of Science database as the research samples, and uses CiteSpace software as the analytical tool to conduct knowledge mapping analysis and text analysis of foreign corporate governance research to explore its development characteristics and evolution trends. The study found that foreign corporate social governance research involves a relatively rich range of subject areas. Although the main cooperation network needs to be further developed, the relevant core institutional groups have already been formed. Topics such as “capital composition”, “interest management”, “corporate social responsibility” and “law” are the focus of research and have received continued attention from foreign academic circles. From the perspective of evolution trends, foreign research in this field is mainly divided into three stages, namely the initial exploration stage from 1999 to 2004, the steady development stage from 2005 to 2017, and the in-depth research stage from 2018 to 2023.
