Bridging the Digital Divide: An Analysis of the Factors Influencing the Digital Divide among Urban and Rural Elderly in Xi’an City

摘要: 随着老龄化程度的加深和智能技术纵深发展，老年群体正在逐渐成为“信息孤岛”，老年人的数字鸿沟程度不断加深，通过对西安市各县区260名老年人问卷调查数据的实证分析，从知识沟、使用沟、接入沟三个维度入手，深入探讨老年数字鸿沟的影响因素及影响程度。实证结果显示，知识沟中的受教育程度和月收入水平对老年人数字鸿沟均有负向的显著影响，受教育程度、收入水平越高的老人存在的数字鸿沟越小；与子女关系更亲密、社区数字普及度高的老人数字鸿沟相对较小；此外，西安市老年人存在城乡数字鸿沟差异，探究老年数字鸿沟的深层因素有助于提高老年人的幸福感、获得感和安全感。

Abstract: With the deepening of aging and the deepening of intelligent technology, the elderly group is gradually becoming an “information island”, and the degree of digital divide among the elderly is deepening. Through the empirical analysis of questionnaire survey data of 260 elderly people in various counties and districts of Xi’an, we start from the three dimensions of the knowledge gap, the use gap, and the access gap to explore in depth the factors affecting the digital divide and the degree of influence of the elderly. The empirical results show that the education level and monthly income level in the knowledge gap have a negative and significant impact on the digital divide of the elderly, and the higher the education level and income level, the smaller the digital divide exists; the digital divide of the elderly who have a closer relationship with their children and have a high degree of digital penetration in the community is relatively small; in addition, there are urban and rural digital divide differences among the elderly in Xi’an, and the investigation of the deeper factors of the digital divide of the elderly will help to improve the sense of well-being and enhance the happiness of the elderly. helps to improve the sense of happiness, access and security of the elderly.
