英汉对比视角下的散文鉴赏与评析——以张培基译《差不多先生传》为例

Appreciation and Analysis on Prose from the Perspective of English-Chinese Comparison—Taking Mr. About-the-Same Translated by Zhang Peiji as an Example

摘要: 散文作为一种写作方式灵活多变，且能抒发作者真情实感的文学体裁，其特点是形散而神不散。散文的英译不仅涉及英汉两种语言之间的转换，同时也与中西方文化之间的差异息息相关。本文从英汉对比视角出发，从措辞、句法、语篇风格方面鉴赏和评析张培基英译散文《差不多先生传》，探讨了其中所用到的重复、词性转换、增译、省译等英译方法与技巧，以期对散文翻译工作者有所帮助。

Abstract: As a literary genre in which the writing method is flexible and can express the true feelings of the author, prose is characterized by scattered form and centralized thought. The English translation of the prose is not only about the transition between English and Chinese, but also about the differences between Chinese and Western cultures. From the perspective of English-Chinese comparison, this paper appreciates and evaluates some of the contents of Zhang Peiji’s English translation of Mr. About-the-Same from wording, grammar, and style, and points out some prose translation methods and techniques used in it such as repetition, conversion in parts of speech, amplification, omission and so on, in order to help prose translators.
