语言顺应论视角下的语码转换研究——以电影《瞬息全宇宙》为例

A Study of Code-Switching from the Perspective of Linguistic Adaptation Theory—A Case Study of Everything, Everywhere, All at Once

摘要: 本研究基于Verschueren的语言顺应论，对电影《瞬息全宇宙》中的语码转换现象进行了分析，探讨了角色如何在英语、普通话和粤语之间根据不同语境和情感需求进行切换，以适应多文化交流的社会、文化及心理需求。电影中的语码转换展示了角色在社会互动中的策略性语言使用，强调了语言在构建文化身份和处理复杂人际关系中的关键作用，进而为理解现代多元文化社会中语言的顺应性提供了新的视角和见解。

Abstract: This study, based on Verschueren’s Linguistic Adaptation Theory, analyzes the code-switching in the film Everything, Everywhere, All at Once. It explores how characters switch between English, Mandarin, and Cantonese based on different situational and emotional needs to adapt to the social, cultural, and psychological demands of multicultural communication. The code-switching in the film illustrates strategic language use in social interactions, emphasizing the pivotal role of language in constructing cultural identities and managing complex interpersonal relationships. This analysis provides new perspectives and insights into understanding the adaptability of language in contemporary multicultural societies.
