Abstract: Black phosphorus as an emerging two-dimensional layered material, has garnered widespread attention from researchers in recent years due to its unique physicochemical properties and light absorption properties. However, the inherent disadvantages severely limit its application in the field of photocatalysis. In order to overcome these shortcomings, researchers have developed a variety of strategies to improve BP material, which have constructed many highly active black phosphorous-based photocatalysts for controlling environmental pollution and energy conversion. Herein, we mainly introduce the characteristics of BP material, within a focus on the main synthesis, modification technique, and application in photocatalysts for two-dimensional layered black phosphorous material. Finally, the existing problems in the study of BP material are summarized, and proposing corresponding strategies and solution.
