Abstract: This paper discusses the importance of e-commerce in the global economy and its sustainable development strategies. It first analyzes the current status and trends of e-commerce development and points out the problems it faces in terms of sustainable development. Then, the article elaborates the core viewpoints of the Marxist concept of development and analyzes the guiding significance of these viewpoints for the sustainable development of e-commerce. Based on the Marxist concept of development and the actual situation of e-commerce, it puts forward suggestions for sustainable development strategies, including technological innovation, optimisation of industrial structure, international cooperation, and improvement of laws and regulations. These suggestions aim to promote the healthy, stable and sustainable development of e-commerce, and provide important theoretical support and practical guidance for the future development of e-commerce.
