Updating and Recreating the Living Spaces of Elderly Residents in Redeveloped Communities

摘要: 文章探讨了中国城镇化过程中回迁社区中老年群体的适应问题。在回迁社区新环境中老年群体面临着生活习惯、社会互动和空间依赖上的冲突，从而影响着他们的生活质量。研究发现：传统生活空间与城市环境的差异是主要原因。因此，文章从多维度建议通过物质空间改造(如设置老年活动中心、改善无障碍设施)和社会网络重建(如促进社区互动、举办适老化活动)来提升老年人的适应能力和生活质量。这些措施有助于帮助回迁社区缓解老年群体适应问题，实现回迁社区的有效整合和功能优化。

Abstract: This paper explores the adaptation challenges faced by the elderly population in relocated communities during China’s urbanization process. In the new environment of relocated communities, the elderly encounter conflicts related to lifestyle habits, social interactions, and spatial dependence, which affect their quality of life. The study finds that the primary reason for these challenges is the difference between traditional living spaces and urban environments. Therefore, the paper recommends a multi-dimensional approach to enhance the elderly’s adaptability and quality of life through spatial modifications (such as setting up senior activity centers and improving barrier-free facilities) and social network reconstruction (such as promoting community interaction and organizing age-friendly activities). These measures are aimed at alleviating adaptation issues for the elderly in relocated communities and achieving effective integration and functional optimization of these communities.
