We use the data of Xinjiang census and statistical yearbook, spatial analysis and spatial econo-metrics model to analyze the trend of infant mortality in Xinjiang, the economic and social drivers of the spatial and regional differences and infant mortality. Through the analysis of the spatial correlation of infant mortality in Xinjiang, the average per capita GDP and the proportion of the total population of ethnic minorities (%) have a significant linear relationship with infant mortality, and the average GDP per capita has a negative correlation with infant mortality. The proportion of the total population of ethnic minorities (%) has a positive correlation with infant mortality.
