Abstract: The Doctrine of the Mean has always been the core value of Chinese traditional philosophy. The analysis of American poet Robert Frost’s writing attitude and representative poems in form and content may well reveal that his complex and unique poetic style—well balanced form and content, paradoxical yet coherent perspective towards nature and man, closely follows the middle way, a typical Chinese philosophy, even though Frost himself seemed to have no contact with oriental culture.
