生态翻译学视角下《北京折叠》英译本研究

A Study on the English Translation of “Folding Beijing” from the Perspective of Eco-Translatology

摘要: 胡庚申教授在2001年提出生态翻译学的概念，主张通过语言层面、文化层面及交际层面三个维度来完成语言的转换，作为中国本土的翻译理论，该理论对于研究翻译过程中语言的适应与选择具有重要意义。本文以中国科幻最高奖雨果奖的获奖作品《北京折叠》为分析文本，使用案例分析法，从“三维转换”视角对刘宇昆的《北京折叠》英译本的翻译方法进行词汇、句法、篇章分析，发现译者综合使用意译、增译、省译等翻译方法，实现了语言的忠实转换和表达。研究为中国科幻作品走出去提供了借鉴，同时也推动了生态翻译学在实践中的发展。

Abstract: In 2001, Professor Hu Gengshen proposed the concept of Eco-translatology, which emphasizes completing language conversion through three dimensions: linguistic, cultural, and communicative. As a translation theory rooted in China, this theory holds great significance for studying the adaptation and selection of language during the translation process. This paper analyzes the English translation of Folding Beijing, a work that won the Hugo Award, China’s top science fiction prize. Using case analysis, the translation methods employed by Liu Yukun are examined from the perspective of “three-dimensional transformation” through lexical, syntactical, and discourse analysis. The study finds that the translator employed various methods, including free translation, addition, and omission, to achieve faithful language conversion and expression. This research provides insights into the international promotion of Chinese science fiction and contributes to the practical development of Eco-translatology.
