评价理论视角下成都大运会报道中的中国形象构建研究

A Study of China’s National Image Construction in News Reports on Chengdu Universiade from the Perspective of Appraisal Theory

摘要: 国家形象是一个国家“软实力”的重要组成部分，自其被提出以来一直是学者们关注的热点。评价理论拓宽了话语分析的研究视角，有利于揭示话语使用背后的人际意义，促进国家形象的话语构建探讨。2023年的成都大运会作为全球最为重要的热点赛事之一，是向世界展示中国形象的重要窗口。然而，目前有关成都大运会新闻报道与国家形象构建的研究并不多，而且大多集中于体育、传媒等领域，鲜有语言学方面的研究。因此，本研究从评价理论的视角探究《中国日报》有关成都大运会的相关报道中构建的中国形象，从语言学的角度探寻中国形象的构建路径，有助于验证评价理论在新闻报道语篇分析中的可行性，拓宽国家形象的研究视角，为构建良好的中国形象提供一些启示。

Abstract: National image is an important part of a country’s “soft power”, which has been the focus of scholars since it was put forward. Appraisal Theory broadens the research perspective of discourse analysis, which is conducive to revealing the interpersonal meaning in discourse and promoting the discourse construction of national image. As one of the most important events in the world, the 2023 Chengdu Universiade is an important window to show the image of China to the world. However, at present, there are not many studies of news reports on Chengdu Universiade and national image construction. Most of these studies focus on sports and media communication, and there are few linguistic studies. Therefore, this study aims to explore the national image of China constructed in the relevant reports of China Daily on the Chengdu Universiade from the perspective of Appraisal Theory. This study verifies the feasibility of Appraisal Theory in the discourse analysis of news reports, broadens the research perspective of national image and provides some enlightenment for building a good national image of China.
