女性主义翻译理论视角下《一间自己的房间》中译探讨
An Analysis of the Chinese Translation of A Room of One’s Own from the Perspective of Feminist Translation Theory
摘要: 《一间自己的房间》是弗吉尼亚·伍尔夫的经典女性主义作品,深刻探讨了女性创作的历史、社会地位以及个体身份。伍尔夫通过这一作品强调女性要实现创作自由和自我价值,必须具备经济独立与精神空间——象征性的“一间自己的房间”。本文基于女性主义翻译理论,深入分析了译者谷婷婷的中译本,探讨了其在翻译过程中如何巧妙运用增补、前言脚注以及劫持等策略。研究结果表明,译者通过显化性别标记、重构文化意象和重新分配话语权等手法,不仅准确传达了伍尔夫对父权文化的批判,更强化了文本中的女性主体意识。本研究展现了女性主义翻译理论在文学翻译实践中的重要性,为理解性别意识在跨文化传播中的演变提供了新的视角,并凸显了译者在文化再生产中的主体性参与对女性主义思想传播的促进作用。
Abstract: A Room of One’s Own is a classic feminist work by Virginia Woolf, which deeply explores the history, social status, and individual identity of female creation. Through this work, Woolf emphasizes that to achieve creative freedom and self-worth, women must have economic independence and spiritual space - symbolically “a room of one’s own”. Based on feminist translation theory, this paper makes an in-depth analysis of Chinese translation of A Room of One’s Own by Gu Tingting and discusses how she skillfully uses the strategies of supplementing, preface or footnotes, and hijacking in the translation process. The study results show that the translator not only accurately conveys Woolf’s criticism of patriarchal culture, but also strengthens the female subject consciousness in the text through the means of manifesting gender markers, reconstructing cultural images, and redistributing the right of speech. This study demonstrates the importance of feminist translation theory in literary translation practice, provides a new perspective for understanding the evolution of gender consciousness in cross-cultural communication, and highlights the role of translators’ subjective participation in cultural reproduction in promoting the dissemination of feminist thought.
