Abstract: In recent years, with the widespread use of mobile technologies such as smartphones, the concern about parental phubbing from all sectors of society has been growing increasingly. This phenomenon has exerted a profound influence on the group of children and adolescents who are in the stage of rapid physical and mental development. For this reason, based on the review of existing studies, this paper divides the influence of parental phubbing behavior on children and adolescents into internalizing problems and externalizing problems. Internalizing problems include depression, social anxiety, suicidal ideation, etc.; externalizing problems include mobile phone addiction, cyberbullying, deviant peer association, etc. Through integrating existing studies and theoretical frameworks, a detailed analysis of the specific mechanisms by which parental phubbing behavior triggers internalizing and externalizing problems in children and adolescents is conducted. Finally, this paper points out the deficiencies of current research in research tools and methods and puts forward suggestions, in order to provide references for future research and practice.
