跨文化传播视角下《哪吒之魔童闹海》字幕翻译策略研究
Study on Subtitle Translation Strategies of Ne Zha: Demon Child Conquers the Sea from the Perspective of Cross-Cultural Communication
摘要: 《哪吒之魔童闹海》是一部优秀的中国动画电影,其中蕴含着丰富的中国传统文化元素。本文从跨文化传播视角,探究《哪吒之魔童闹海》字幕的英译策略,进而探讨如何通过翻译策略来实现中国传统文化元素的跨文化准确传达,以有效弥合文化差异,促进中国文化在国际中的传播与交流。研究发现,《哪吒之魔童闹海》字幕翻译运用了直译、意译、音译加注、文化替代等多种策略,有效传递了中国传统文化元素,使外国观众领略到中国神话体系、传统价值观与民俗文化的魅力,激发其对中国文化的兴趣。同时,影片在国际市场反响良好,提升了中国动画电影的国际影响力。研究也发现,部分翻译在文化意象传递的精准度上仍有提升空间,未来可进一步优化翻译策略,使字幕翻译在跨文化传播中发挥更大的作用,助力中国文化“走出去”。
Abstract: Ne Zha: Demon Child Conquers the Sea is an excellent Chinese animated film rich in traditional Chinese cultural elements. From the perspective of cross-cultural communication, this paper explores the English translation strategies of the subtitles of Ne Zha: Demon Child Conquers the Sea, and further discusses how to achieve the accurate cross-cultural transmission of traditional Chinese cultural elements through translation strategies, so as to effectively bridge cultural differences and promote the international dissemination and exchange of Chinese culture. The research shows that the subtitle translation of Ne Zha: Demon Child Conquers the Sea employs a variety of strategies such as literal translation, free translation, transliteration plus annotation, and cultural substitution, which effectively convey traditional Chinese cultural elements, enabling foreign audiences to appreciate the charm of the Chinese mythological system, traditional values, and folk culture, and stimulating their interest in Chinese culture. At the same time, the film has received a good response in the international market, enhancing the international influence of Chinese animated films. The research also reveals that there is still room for improvement in the accuracy of cultural image transmission in some translations. In the future, translation strategies can be further optimized to make subtitle translation play a greater role in cross-cultural communication and help Chinese culture “go global”.
