机器翻译文学对比与分析——以Hills Like White Elephants为例

Comparison and Analysis of Machine Translation in Literature—Taking Hills Like White Elephants as an Example

摘要: 一直以来，文学文本的翻译都处在高精尖的水平之上，如何提高文学文本的翻译效率和质量，这是一个问题。随着科技的发展，人工智能应运而生。本文旨在通过对比机器翻译文学文本与人工翻译的区别，探讨机器翻译是否能应用于文学领域。本文选取了Hills Like White Elephants翟象俊先生的译本与人工智能方面的代表ChatGPT的翻译相对比，分析两者之间的差异。通过对比分析，本文发现机器翻译在文学文本方面有可取之处，但是也存在很大的问题，如语义理解不准确、无法指代还原等。展望机器翻译在文学领域的发展，促使文学走向世界。

Abstract: It has always been a problem that the translation of literary texts is above the level of high-grade, and how to improve the efficiency and quality of translation of literary texts. With the advancement of technology, artificial intelligence was born. The purpose of this paper is to explore whether machine translation can be applied to the field of literature by comparing the difference between machine translation of literary texts and human translation. In this paper, the translation of Hills Like White Elephants by Mr. Zhai Xiangjun is selected to compare with the translation of ChatGPT, a representative of artificial intelligence, to analyze the differences between the two. Through comparative analysis, this paper finds that machine translation has merits in literary texts, but there are also big problems, such as inaccurate semantic understanding, inability to refer to the reduction and so on. Looking ahead to the development of machine translation in the literary field and fostering literature to the world.
