Abstract: Conduct disorder (CD) is one of the most common mental disorders in children and adolescents, which is characterized by poor prognosis, great destructiveness and heavy social burden, as well as a major influence factor of social instability. In the past 20 years, investigators have fully confirmed the important role of empathy in the formation of different conduct disorders and the occurrence and development of antisocial behavior. This present paper mainly focused on the neurocognitive mechanisms of empathy deficit (callous unemotional trait) in CD individuals, in order to provide objective neurobiological basis for accurate diagnosis and effective intervention of CD.
