襄阳方言否定副词“莫”研究

A Study on the Negative Adverb “Mo” in Xiangyang Dialect

摘要: 对应英文“Don’t”的“别”在西南官话内部差异较大，其中不少方言点可以用“莫”表示英文“Don’t”的意义。本文拟从汉语词汇史入手，调查西南官话区否定副词“莫”的地域分布，以襄阳方言否定副词“莫”为研究对象，运用描写的方法梳理其基本句法分布及主要的句法语义功能，并探讨“莫”不同用法的来源和形成过程，尝试解释其演变模式、原因和机制。

Abstract: The word “bie” (别), which corresponds to “don’t” in English, exhibits significant variation within Southwestern Mandarin. In many dialectal areas, “mo” (莫) is used to convey the meaning of “don’t.” This paper begins with the lexical history of Chinese, investigating the geographical distribution of the negative adverb “mo” in the Southwestern Mandarin region. Focusing on the negative adverb “mo” in the Xiangyang dialect, the study employs descriptive methods to outline its basic syntactic distribution and primary syntactic-semantic functions. Additionally, it explores the origins and formation processes of different usages of “mo”, attempting to explain its evolutionary patterns, reasons, and mechanisms.
