变译理论视角下《到黑夜想你没办法》英译本探析
An Analysis of the English Translation of “I Can’t Help Thinking of You until the Night” from the Perspective of Translation Variation Theory
摘要: 本文基于变译理论为框架，以乡土小说《到黑夜想你没办法》的英译为研究对象，从“增、编、缩、述”四种主要变译策略切入，探讨其作品中口语和当地的方言，在翻译过程中体现出的地域风格及其效果。研究发现，变译理论在中国乡土小说翻译中具有实践价值，为促进中国乡土文学的外译传播，提供新的思考。
Abstract: Based on the theory of translation variation, this paper takes the English translation of the rural novel “I Can’t Help Thinking of You until the Night” as the research object, and explores the colloquial language and local dialects in the work, and the regional style and its effect reflected in the translation process from the four main translation variation strategies of “addition, editing, contraction and narration”. The study found that the theory of translation variation has practical value in the translation of Chinese rural novels, and provides new thinking for promoting the translation and dissemination of Chinese rural literature.
