论西季威克对于功利主义的辩护——兼论对于融贯论的反驳
On Sidgwick’s Defense of Utilitarianism—With a Discussion on the Rebuttal of Coherentism
摘要: 西季威克对于功利主义的辩护在伦理学史上具有重要地位。然而，在有关辩护结构的理解上，学界出现了基础论、融贯论以及兼容论三种不同的解读方式。通过分析西季威克在《伦理学方法》第三编以及第四编中提出的两种证明，本文将论证，西季威克对于功利主义的辩护结构是基础论的。
Abstract: Sidgwick’s defense of utilitarianism holds a significant place in the history of ethics. However, there are three different interpretations regarding the understanding of the structure of his defense: foundationalism, coherentism, and compatibilism. By analyzing the two proofs presented by Sidgwick in the third and fourth books of “Methods of Ethics”, this paper argues that Sidgwick’s structure for defending utilitarianism is foundationalism.
