Reflection on “Sugar-Free” Socializing from the Perspective of “Emotional Capitalism”

摘要: “零糖”社交，泛指在社交中保持一定距离和独立性，不过多依赖他人提供情绪价值，不产生过多的社交期望值，这表现出极强的实用性和个体独立性。文章以伊娃·易洛思的“情感资本主义”理论为指导，对当前社会中“零糖”社交现象进行深入探讨，以期为构建健康、真诚的人际关系提供理论支持，助力改善当代社会人际互动模式。研究发现，“零糖”社交中情感理性化表现为社交规则的算法化编码，资本化体现为情感价值的量化交易，数字化导致情感表达的表演性异化。

Abstract: “Sugar-free” social interaction generally refers to maintaining a certain distance and independence in social relationships, refraining from excessive reliance on others for emotional support, and not harboring excessive social expectations. This approach demonstrates strong practicality and individual independence. Guided by Eva Illouz’s theory of “emotional capitalism”, this paper delves into the phenomenon of “sugar-free” social interaction in contemporary society, aiming to provide theoretical support for fostering healthy and sincere interpersonal relationships and facilitating improvements in the patterns of interpersonal interaction in modern society. The study finds that in “sugar-free” social interaction, emotional rationalization manifests as the algorithmic coding of social rules, capitalization is reflected in the quantitative trading of emotional value, and digitization leads to the performative alienation of emotional expression.
