基于纽马克交际翻译与语义翻译原则的《好东西》字幕翻译研究

A Study on the Subtitle Translation of Her Story Based on the Principles of Newmark’s Communicative Translation and Semantic Translation

摘要: 本文以《好东西》(Her Story)的中英字幕为语料，借助纽马克的交际翻译与语义翻译原则，阐述两种翻译取向在字幕制作中的互补性。本文先回顾纽马克文本功能理论及两大翻译原则，随后选取影片五段对白做对照分析，逐句讨论译文在信息传递、文化负载、语用功能与情感色彩上的取舍，最终得出结论：合理运用纽马克的两种翻译原则能够有效解决字幕翻译中的信息传递、文化差异、语言风格等多方面问题，既保证了电影原作的艺术魅力和叙事完整性在翻译中的最大程度呈现，又提升了跨文化语境下观众对电影的理解与接受程度，为国产电影的海外传播以及跨文化交流背景下电影翻译的优化提供了有益参考与借鉴。

Abstract: Taking the Chinese and English subtitles of Her Story as the corpus, this paper illustrates the complementarity of the two translation principles in subtitle translation on the basis of Newmark’s principles of communicative translation and semantic translation. This essay first reviews Newmark’s theory of textual function and the two principles of translation, then selects five dialogue segments of the film for comparative analysis, and discusses sentence by sentence the trade-offs between information transmission, cultural load, pragmatic function and emotion of the translated text, and finally comes to the conclusion that the reasonable application of Newmark’s two principles of translation can effectively solve the problems of information transmission, cultural differences, linguistic style and other issues of subtitling, which can not only ensure the artistic charm and narrative integrity of the subtitle but also enhance the audience’s understanding and acceptance of the film in the cross-cultural context. It provides useful references for the overseas dissemination of domestic films as well as subtitle translation in the context of cross-cultural exchanges.
