The Inscription of the Spring Festival on UNESCO’s Heritage List: A New Opportunity for International Chinese Education and Cultural Communication

摘要: 2024年12月4日，“春节——中国人庆祝传统新年的社会实践”被列入联合国教科文组织人类非物质文化遗产代表作名录，标志着春节这一中华传统节日获得全球文化认可。本文以春节申遗为契机，深入分析其在国际中文教育与中华文化传播中的价值与功能。文章指出，春节文化不仅增强了全球范围内对中华文化的认同，也拓宽了跨文化传播的路径，促进了文化交流与互鉴。申遗所激发的国际关注与媒介再现，为中文教育注入了鲜活文化资源，有助于突破语言教学的工具性局限，实现语言与文化的深度融合。本文进一步从教学内容拓展、教学方法创新以及教育对象多元化等方面提出具体策略，旨在借春节文化激发国际中文教育的新活力，推动中文成为连接全球文化的桥梁。

Abstract: On December 4, 2024, “Spring Festival—Social Practices for Celebrating the Traditional Lunar New Year in China” was inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, marking a global recognition of this traditional Chinese celebration. This paper takes the Festival’s inscription as an opportunity to explore its educational and cultural significance in the context of international Chinese language education and cultural communication. The study argues that the symbolic power of the Spring Festival not only strengthens global appreciation for Chinese culture but also broadens the pathways for intercultural exchange and mutual understanding. The international attention and media reproduction triggered by the inscription have provided dynamic cultural resources for Chinese language education, helping to move beyond the instrumental approach to language teaching and achieve deeper integration between language and culture. The paper further proposes practical strategies—such as enriching curriculum content, innovating teaching methods, and diversifying target audiences—to inject new vitality into global Chinese language education and to promote Chinese as a cultural bridge in a globalized world.
