网络热词“偷感”的语义、语法
The Semantics and Grammar of the Internet Buzzword “Stealing Sensation”
Abstract: “Stealing sensation” is a newly emerged and rapidly popularized expression on Chinese social media. It is used to describe a subtle, implicit, and slightly bashful emotional response triggered by certain images, situations, or words. This paper takes “stealing sensation” as its research subject and conducts a systematic analysis from the perspectives of word formation, semantic mechanism, grammatical function, and pragmatic features. The study finds that although “stealing sensation” appears to follow a typical “verb + noun” structure, its semantics have become bleached, functioning more as a subjective, emotion-oriented noun. Grammatically, it is highly flexible, functioning as subject, object, or attributive, and it also shows a tendency toward adjectival usage. On the pragmatic level, “stealing sensation” reflects the strategic choices made by internet users—especially Generation Z—in emotional expression. These users tend to favor vague, lightweight, and low-risk ways of conveying feelings. The paper further compares “stealing sensation” with other “X-sensation” type internet buzzwords, analyzing their popularity mechanisms and semantic evolution. By examining “stealing sensation”, this study aims to reveal how internet language generates meaning, mediates emotional expression in daily communication, and ultimately reflects the changing aesthetics and social psychology of our time.
