《札迻》因声求义研究

A Study of Inference Meanings from Sounds in the Zha Yi

摘要: 《札迻》是晚清孙诒让宗法王念孙的《读书杂志》而写成的一部校勘训诂著作，其不仅在体例上与《读书杂志》相似，在训诂上也传承了《读书杂志》因声求义的方法。通过考察《札迻》里的训诂实践，我们发现其体现了王念孙“就古音以求古义，引申触类，不限形体”的观念，并在破解假借、系联同源字、解释联绵词、纠正前人误释、通晓转语方面使用了因声求义的方法。

Abstract: Zha Yi is a work of revision and exegesis written by Sun Yirang in the late Qing Dynasty, which is based on Wang Niansun’s Reading Magazine. It is not only similar to Reading Magazine in its style, but also inherits the method of inference meanings from sounds in exegesis from Reading Magazine. By examining the exegetical practices in the Zha Yi, we find that it embodies Wang Niansun’s concept of “seeking ancient meanings from ancient sounds, and applying derivations to touch upon similarities without limitation of form”, and that it uses the method of inference meanings from sounds in deciphering phonetic loan, linking aognates explaining binding words, correcting previous misinterpretations, and understanding transfer of language.
