Abstract: The film “Mr. Nobody” is a science fiction drama film that explores the impact of time, memory and choice on individual identity, and presents a profound story about infinite possibilities and the meaning of human existence through the adventures of the protagonist Nemo Nobis in different life trajectories. This paper borrows the ideas of French existentialist philosopher Sartre to interpret “Mr. Nobody”. By exploring the choices made by the protagonist at different stages of his life, it reveals how Sartre’s theories of “existence precedes essence”, “free choice” and “the other is hell” are reflected in the film text. Sartre’s existentialist philosophical theories provide an important perspective for understanding the thematic ideas in “Mr. Nobody”, and demonstrate the academic value and profound significance of Sartre’s philosophy in film and television.
