Integration Path Research for Micro-Drama and E-Commerce Platforms
Abstract: This paper focuses on the current explosive growth of micro-short dramas. Based on the low monetization efficiency of the micro-drama industry, the high customer acquisition costs of e-commerce platforms, the disconnected conversion pathways, the imbalanced profit distribution resulting from their divergent objectives, and technology-driven foundations, it explores emerging models for the deep integration of short dramas and e-commerce platforms, systematically deconstructing the three-dimensional synergistic pathway of “content-traffic-ecosystem”: content-driven traffic attracts users by triggering immediate purchases through emotional climaxes and compressing decision-making processes via character immersion; traffic monetization builds a value network through CPS (Cost Per Sale) revenue sharing, brand-customized dramas, and membership benefit integration; ecological synergy forms a closed loop by leveraging data interoperability, logistics coordination, and user demand informing content creation. However, this pathway faces core challenges—disputes over traffic ownership, imbalance between content and commerce, and conflicts in profit distribution. Therefore, this paper proposes solutions including blockchain smart contracts, AR try-on experiences, and OpenID 2.0 ecological mechanisms. Simultaneously, at the theoretical level, it fills the gap in cross-platform integration frameworks for “content consumption-immediate transactions”, while at the practical level, it provides a path guide by integrating market insights, signifying the transition of short dramas from mere entertainment products to commercial infrastructure.
