摘要: 本文基于IATEFL国际教师会议中关于SEL (Social and Emotional Learning,社会情感学习)的前沿理念与实践经验分享,深入剖析SEL在英语教学中的重要价值与实施路径。通过对SEL核心能力框架,即自我意识、自我管理、社会意识、人际关系技能和负责任的决策的解读,结合会议中案例,阐述其对提升学生英语学习效果、促进身心健康发展的积极作用。从课堂环境营造、教学活动设计、教师专业发展等维度,为新东方教师提供将SEL融入英语教学的可操作性策略,旨在培养学生语言能力的同时,提升其社会情感素养,以适应全球化背景下对人才的多元需求。
Abstract: Based on the cutting-edge concepts and practical experiences of SEL (Social and Emotional Learning) shared at the IATEFL International Teachers’ Conference, this paper analyzes the value and implementation path of SEL in English teaching. By interpreting the core competence framework of SEL (self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making), and combining with conference cases, it expounds on its positive effects on improving students’ English learning efficiency and promoting their physical and mental health. From the dimensions of classroom environment creation, teaching activity design, and teacher professional development, this paper provides operable strategies for teachers of New Oriental to integrate SEL into English teaching, aiming to cultivate students with both language proficiency and social-emotional literacy to meet the diversified needs for talents in the globalized era.
